Afghan Vote Heats Up Amid Rumours of Corruption

After reported claims of corruption in the Afghanistan Election, many sources such as the BBC have come out with their own evidence of corruption. In a video* supplied by Abdullah Abdullah himself, viewers can make out men marking voting ballots for Hamid Karzai on the side of a road, and with a new article posted in the New York Times today entitled, “Karzai Widens Lead in Afghan Vote“, the question of trusting the poll results becomes increasingly more important to answer. the facts are uncovered,especially when dealing with video footage that could have been staged or just is real, and despite these claims of fraud this historic election, that is the first of it’s kind, is being “hailed a success” according to BBC News and I would have to agree unless it turns out that the video footage mentioned above is actually authentic. Those who voted demonstrated their commitment to have their opinions heard and reflected in a democratic format, and despite Taliban threats there were turnouts however dismal the numbers were, see link below, but ultimately they, and the troops positioned around the localities, risked their lives to have an election that will hopefully lead to a brighter tomorrow and stronger bonds with the international community.
